Program Overview

Catalog Description

Working with people through difficult times is not only personally satisfying, it can be a rewarding career. CLC's program prepares students for entry and middle-level positions in agencies and programs specializing in helping people at various stages of adulthood, from young adults to seniors. These opportunities may be in community-based not-for-profits, counseling agencies, programs for those with developmental disabilities, hospitals, and skilled nursing facilities. Working under the direction of a social worker or other social services supervisor, a graduate may work as a human services assistant, mental health aide, client advocate, case management aide, life skills counselor, or similar positions with a focus on benefiting others.
