Course Description
This course provides an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQIA+) studies. This course will explore the impact of socio-historical events on the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as consider the definitions, stigmas, and challenges faced by individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community. Topics of discussion include, but are not limited to: sexual orientation, gender identity, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, heterosexism, and queer theory.
