Catalog Description

The following courses are recommended for students who have not decided upon a specific four-year college or university. Once a transfer school is selected, students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Success Advisor to determine courses at CLC which will also meet the transfer requirements. To complete any transfer degree, students should follow the .

All course prerequisites must be met. Additionally, students are required to select one course from the to meet graduation requirements. A grade of C or better is required for all English course requirements.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

1. Transfer to a four-year program in Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences degree in French and Francophone Studies, Bachelor of Arts in the Teaching of French, or other related fields.

2. Demonstrate Proficiency in French: Communicate effectively in spoken and written French, building skills from beginner to intermediate or advanced levels with attention to grammar, vocabulary, and composition.

3. Explore and Analyze Francophone Cultures: Develop cultural understanding through the study of literature, film, media, and community experiences across diverse French-speaking regions in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Canada, and beyond.

4. Apply French in Academic and Career Contexts: Gain insights into French linguistics and apply language skills in fields such as international relations, global business, education, translation, law, government, and journalism.
