Catalog Description

The following courses are recommended for students who have not decided upon a specific four-year college or university. Once a transfer school is selected, students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Success Advisor to determine courses at CLC which will also meet the transfer requirements. To complete any transfer degree, students should follow the college requirements for associate degrees that transfer.

All course prerequisites must be met. Additionally, students are required to select one course from the International/Multicultural (I/M) list to meet graduation requirements. A grade of C or better is required for all English course requirements.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

Analyze fundamental biological concepts within and among the molecular, cellular, organismal, and ecological levels.

Use the scientific method to plan experiments, evaluate and interpret experimental data, and present scientific results using appropriate communication formats.

Apply essential laboratory techniques in biology by measuring accurately, operating microscopy equipment, preparing solutions correctly, and implementing safety protocols and appropriate handling of biological materials.

Analyze evidence for evolution to explain patterns of biological diversity and the relationships among organisms.
