Catalog Description

The following courses are recommended for students who have not decided upon a specific four-year college or university. Once a transfer school is selected, students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Success Advisor to determine courses at CLC which will also meet the transfer requirements. To complete any transfer degree, students should follow the college requirements for associate degrees that transfer.

All course prerequisites must be met. Additionally, students are required to select one course from the International/Multicultural (I/M) list to meet graduation requirements. A grade of C or better is required for all English course requirements.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

Graduates who transfer to four-year college and university programs toward Bachelor's level degrees will articulate and demonstrate any and all of the above skills, knowledge, and behaviors to be successful in their further educational goals and career plans.

Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to utilize individual and group guidance and problem-solving techniques that develop positive, supportive, and collaborative environments, interactions, and relationships with both children and adults

Graduates will utilize and employ criteria, procedures, and methods of observation, documentation, and assessment that demonstrate understanding of typical and atypical development and learning.

Graduates will design appropriate learning environments for young children and integrate sound safety, health, and nutrition practices within the early childhood classroom and program according to local, state, and national standards for quality care and early education.
