Catalog Description

The following courses are recommended for students who have not decided upon a specific four-year college or university. Once a transfer school is selected, students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Success Advisor to determine courses at CLC which will also meet the transfer requirements. To complete any transfer degree, students should follow the college requirements for associate degrees that transfer.

All course prerequisites must be met. Additionally, students are required to select one course from the International/Multicultural (I/M) list to meet graduation requirements. A grade of C or better is required for all English course requirements.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

Graduates will use problem-solving techniques to create positive, supportive, and collaborative environments in early childhood classrooms

Graduates will utilize criteria, procedures, and methods of observation, documentation, and assessment to demonstrate understanding of typical and atypical development and learning.

Graduates will integrate sound safety, health, and nutrition practices according to standards for quality care in early education in early childhood classrooms.

Graduates will design appropriate learning environments for young children that are developmentally appropriate

Graduate will apply child development theory to practice in the early childhood field
