Catalog Description
The following courses are recommended for students who have not decided upon a specific four-year college or university. Once a transfer school is selected, students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Success Advisor to determine courses at CLC which will also meet the transfer requirements. To complete any transfer degree, students should follow the requirements for an Associate in Arts.
All course prerequisites must be met. Additionally, students are required to select one course from the to meet graduation requirements. A grade of C or better is required for all English course requirements.
Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:
1. Transfer to a four-year program in Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences degree, Bachelor of Arts in the Teaching of Spanish, or related fields.
2. Demonstrate Proficiency in Spanish: Communicate effectively in spoken and written Spanish, progressing from foundational to intermediate or advanced levels with a strong grasp of grammar, vocabulary, and composition.
3. Explore and Analyze Spanish-Speaking Cultures: Develop cultural awareness through the study of literature, film, media, and community engagement across diverse Spanish-speaking regions in the U.S. and abroad.
4. Apply Spanish in Academic and Career Contexts: Gain foundational knowledge in Spanish linguistics and apply language skills in professional fields such as business, healthcare, education, and public service.
