Catalog Description

Develop skills relating to Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) – also known as stick-welding – to join metal using heat and electricity. Develop fundamental fabrication skills, industrial math skills and how to read blueprints used in metal fabrication and welding. The certificate courses ladder into a degree program.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

Identify SMAW equipment

Safely setup SMAW equipment as it pertains to industry standards

Execute various weldments with the SMAW process
