In this 20-hour certificate program, you learn the principles of effective written communication and how to produce concise, easily understood and visually engaging documents for a variety of audiences. In our project-based courses, you will create real-world communication materials, including newsletters, blogs, websites and more! When you graduate, you will have a portfolio of impressive materials you can show off to potential employers. This certificate is perfect for students who have already completed a degree in another field and wish to upskill and re-enter the job force.

This certificate may be completely fully online, depending on selected elective courses.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

Inform, educate, and persuade an audience by using engaging, memorable, and compelling storytelling techniques.

Communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and powerfully.

Use multimedia to enhance a written message.

Demonstrate how to make complex information accessible using graphics and visuals.

Apply editing strategies to create professional documents.

Demonstrate professional writing skills relevant to a variety of industries.
