Catalog Description

The Digital Media and Design Associate in Applied Science Degree provides students with the conceptual, critical, creative and technical skills needed to design and produce a variety of commercial, educational and artistic media and design projects. Building on conventional communication formats, Digital Media and Design will explore the realm of new media, creating art and design works such as digital sound and music, still and moving images, 3D models, 2D and 3D animations, Web, video and interactive media. This is a robust curriculum designed to keep up with industry developments and trends.

This degree has three Specialty Options:

  • Graphic Design

  • Web Development & Interactive Design

  • Animation

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

Apply creative and critical thinking skills to develop innovative design solutions, concepts, and visual communications that align with client needs and industry standards across various digital platforms

Show proficiency in using industry-standard software, technologies, and processes, including tools for animation, graphic design, digital audio and video, web development, interactive media, and social media to produce high-quality, professional work

Communicate design concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with clients and team members, valuing feedback, revisions, and teamwork throughout the creative process

Gain the skills and knowledge for entry-level positions in animation, graphic design, digital audio and video, web development, and social media, while demonstrating professionalism and understanding industry trends and workplace expectations
