Catalog Description

This certificate provides students hands-on experience configuring, monitoring, and supporting systems running the Linux operating system. Several topics include security, kernel modules, storage & visualization, device management at an enterprise level, git & automation, networking & firewalls, server side & command line, server (vs. client-based) coverage, troubleshooting and SELinux. On completion of this coursework, the student will be prepared to take certification exams for Linux+.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

Install, configure, and manage Linux operating systems, including user and group management, file system permissions, networking, and shell scripting for automation.

Implement security best practices, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems using command-line tools, logs, and system diagnostics.
