Screening Requirements

We want to get you started in this program! First, make sure you have met the admission requirements:

  1. Apply to CLC.

  2. Meet the prerequisites:

    • College reading and writing readiness and basic Algebra readiness.

    • Have a CLC cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 or above.

    • Pass BIO 123, BIO 161 or equivalent course with a grade of C or higher.

    • Pass CHM 120, CHM 121 or equivalent course with a grade of C or higher.

    • Pass BIO 111 or equivalent course with a grade of B or higher. BIO 244 with a C or better is equivalent to BIO 111 for screening. Students choosing to take BIO 244 must also complete BIO 245 prior to starting the DHY program. There is a 5 year expiration date for Anatomy & Physiology courses.

    • NLN NEX with minimum acceptable percentile scores within 3 years of the screening deadline.

    • Be 18 years old on the first day of the summer session following the screening deadline.

    • Attend a Dental Hygiene program information session (within the 2 years preceding the screening deadline).

    • Submit the Dental Setting Observation and Reflection Essay Form with submission of the Dental Hygiene Screening Form.

Screening Deadline: First Wednesday in February
