Course Description
This course addresses the principles and practices of nursery production and management, and how these have changed over recent years to reflect environmental sustainability in the green industry. The course topics include production techniques for traditional nursery crops and native species, and will include field trips to nearby growing facilities. This course will include lecture and lab components; the labs will be conducted at local nurseries where students will be exposed to current nursery industry practices and technologies and will interact with host staff to understand their unique approaches to nursery management and production. Students will be responsible for their own transportation to the nursery sites on lab days.
