Course Description

This course introduces students to the principles and concepts of plant pathology. The course covers disease development, environmental interactions, microbial biology and life cycles, and disease management strategies. Topics include plant disease genetics; plant disease epidemiology; environmental factors affecting plant disease; plant diseases caused by fungi, prokaryotes, parasitic higher plants, viruses, and nematodes. Lab includes study of important plant diseases of field crops, fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants.
