General Entomology
Course Description
This course introduces students to the fundamental aspects of Entomology. Topics include insect classification, identification, structure, physiology, biology, adaptations, ecology, behavior, insect disease vectors, social insects, principles of pest management, insect pests of field crops, vegetables, fruit, and ornamental plants. Lab activities include exercises on insect antennae, the insect leg, the insect wing, butterfly pinning, and insect identification.
