The Commercial Refrigeration Technician Certificate program prepares students for employment as commercial refrigeration trainees. This certificate provides focused training in the commercial refrigeration industry, with an emphasis on hands-on service and installation of commercial refrigerators, freezers and ice machines commonly used in the food service sector.

Coursework develops skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, as well as proper soldering and brazing techniques. Students gain experience in safe refrigerant handling and the use of manifold gauge sets and electrical test equipment commonly found in commercial refrigeration applications.

Through a combination of classroom instruction and laboratory application, students learn core commercial refrigeration principles and apply them in hands-on lab settings to build the technical competence required for entry-level employment in the commercial refrigeration field.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:
