The Automotive Collision Repair Certificate prepares students for entry-level employment as automotive collision repair technicians. The program provides foundational knowledge and hands-on training in non-structural vehicle repair, emphasizing safe work practices and adherence to industry and manufacturer standards.Coursework focuses on the inspection, removal, repair, and replacement of damaged vehicle components. Students develop practical skills in panel replacement and alignment, dent repair, plastic repair, automotive glass service, and basic automotive welding techniques. Instruction also introduces students to vehicle construction, materials, and proper use of collision repair tools and equipment.

Through a combination of classroom instruction and laboratory experience, students build the technical proficiency and professional work habits necessary to perform common collision repairs in modern repair facilities. Graduates are prepared to enter the workforce or continue their training in advanced collision repair and refinishing coursework.

Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:

1. Follow safety, environmental, and workplace regulations related to collision repair operations.

2. Identify vehicle construction types and materials and apply appropriate non-structural repair procedures based on manufacturer recommendations.

3. Remove, repair, and replace damaged exterior body panels and components.

4. Perform dent repair and plastic component repair procedures.

5. Operate basic automotive welding equipment.
