Catalog Description
This certificate is for students who are interested in validating overall competencies in cloud security and gaining a better understanding of the security factors that are commonly associated with cloud computing. Students will learn how to secure data in the cloud. The certificate can be completed as a student progresses through the CIT AAS degree program with the specialty option of Network Administration and Cybersecurity. On completion of this coursework, the student will be prepared to take certification exams for Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge.
Once the program has been completed, students should be able to:
Demonstrate an understanding of cloud computing security principles, risk management strategies, and compliance frameworks (such as GDPR, NIST, and ISO 27001) to assess and mitigate cloud security risks effectively.
Apply best practices for securing cloud environments, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, data protection, and incident response to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud-based systems.
