Course Description
Natural Hazards and Disasters explores the origins and effects of events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, and asteroid impacts. Students investigate the frequency and distribution of these hazards, as well as methods of research, forecasting, and human response to geological, atmospheric, and astronomical threats. The course also examines both historical and contemporary extreme events through environmental and societal lenses.
