Automotive Refinishing II
Course Description
This course builds on foundational automotive refinishing knowledge with an emphasis on surface preparation and the application of undercoat and solvent-based topcoat systems. Students develop hands-on skills in vehicle protection (masking), spray booth preparation, and HVLP spray gun set-up and operation in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards. Instruction includes preparation of vehicle substrates for primer application, use of refinishing mixing systems, vehicle color code identification, and accurate material mixing procedures. Learning is reinforced through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on lab activities designed to reinforce skill-sets and prepare students for industry-level refinishing practices. NOTE: Students must successfully complete the course with a final grade of “C” or better to advance all Automotive Collision Repair courses. Work Experience may be considered to meet the prerequisite.

Prerequisite: ACR 110 OR AUT 110 (Both C or better) AND ACR 131 (C or better)
Corequisite: ACR 215 (C or better). Course fee.
