Choreography I

Course Description

An introductory course to the fundamentals of dance making. No prior dance experience is required. Through improvisational and problem solving exercises, students will explore their own movement vocabulary and create short movement studies for solo and small groups. Students will learn basic elements of movement (time, space, weight, flow), compositional design, and form. This course includes selected studies of acclaimed choreographers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
