Course Description

This course is designed as a review of the principles of arithmetic: fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, percent, introduction to algebra, US customary and metric measurements, formulas for area, perimeter, and volume from a calculator based perspective.NOTE: This course does not apply to any associate degree or career certificate. For students required to complete MTH 115 or MTH 117, basic algebra readiness is better demonstrated by completing MTH 114. Specific calculator required. Contact EMPS division office for referral or additional information.

Requirements

Prerequisite: Score of 6 or higher on the Math Placement Test. A student who scores below 6 on the Math Placement Test should meet with a counselor to discuss options.
