Figure Drawing
Course Description
Figure Drawing focuses on the process of drawing the human figure and understanding its form, proportion, and anatomical landmarks. Most drawing classes will revolve around drawing a live nude model from direct observation. Reference images of anatomical diagrams from the textbook will also be used as a source. The course will cover gesture drawing, figure proportions, visual measuring, visual sighting, sketching, contour line drawing, planar analysis, cross contour line, anatomy studies including skeleton and muscle structure, value drawing, composition, multi-figure compositions, master studies, drawing in color, and portraiture. Drawing mediums will include graphite, charcoal, conte crayon, chalk pastel, ink, and colored pencil.Note: Additional materials beyond those covered by course or lab fees will be required.
